Common Reasons Why People do not Consider Hiring an Attorney
Interviewer: When people are charged with a DUI, what do you think are some of the things that may make them not hire an attorney? Do you think that they’re afraid or embarrassed? What do think holds people back from speaking to an attorney about their case and getting help?
Adam: Sometimes it’s a matter of wanting to get it over and done with. Sometimes they don’t want other people to know what happened to them. They do get a little embarrassed.
Sometimes they just don’t recognize the severity of the situation and the possible ramifications that could come a week or two later, like a case that I had today.
Interviewer: Are there any other reasons that you think holds people back?
An Attorney May Cost Less Than you Think
Adam: Sometimes they probably believe that it’s going to cost $10,000 to retain an attorney and they don’t have the cash on them at that point it time. Usually it’s not as expensive as they might think, and there’s usually ways to finance it.
Interviewer: If people require this, can sometimes arrange a short-term payment plan? The fees are not quite as expensive as people think, correct?
Adam: No, they are not as bad as most people probably think.
