CDL License Holders, OVIs and Traffic Violations
Interviewer: Because you’re close to the border of Pennsylvania, do you see many commercial truck drivers with CDL licenses get arrested?
Adam: I have many of them but they do not necessarily always have OVI charges. I do have quite a few clients who are truck drivers because we have the major interstate, Route 76, which runs right through our area.
Most commonly, commercial drivers offenses are usually traffic violations, not so much OVI but speeding and similar infractions. And most of the time, by hiring an attorney they don’t have to actually appear in court and might have the charge reduced to a non- moving violation.
Interviewer: For people with commercial licenses are the stakes are a lot higher for even traffic violations?
